Daily checks
Daily attention means coolant level and concentration, chip clearance, lubrication, air pressure and a visual check of guards and hoses.

Weekly and monthly tasks
Weekly work covers filter cleaning, way or linear guide lubrication, chip conveyor checks and a look at the tool holders and pull studs.
Monthly tasks include checking axis backlash, cleaning cabinet filters and verifying that the probe and tool setter are still calibrated.
Annual service and calibration
Annual work should include a ballbar or laser check of positioning accuracy, spindle condition, coolant system service and a review of safety circuits.

Hold the consumables that stop production when they fail: filters, seals, fuses, belts, batteries for the control and the tool holders used every day.
The cost of holding them is small compared with a week of lost spindle time.

A maintenance log with dates, actions and measurements supports warranty claims, insurance and resale value, and it shows patterns that cause repeat failures.
